About KAPSARC
Incepted in 2016, King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC) is a think tank within global energy economics and sustainability, serving various entities in the Saudi Arabian energy industry, including Saudi Aramco. KAPSARC leverages analytical capabilities and expertise to advise the Saudi Arabian energy sector. With internationally recognized research tools and data, the advisory think tank impacts global policymaking and advances the Saudi Arabian energy industry.
Challenges
The Saudi Arabian energy sector is experiencing an energy transition toward clean energy and renewable resources for power generation. However, making this giant leap is not a piece of cake owing to several factors. One of the most prevalent issues preventing the expedition of the said transition is the sheer lack of skilled workforce. KAPSARC is at the forefront of energy and policy research in the region. Playing the pivotal role of an energy think tank, it engages with entities and stakeholders in the energy sector. Hence, the experts at the Riyadh-based energy research center continuously absorb novel information that aids them in generating new and innovative ideas and discoveries.
However, the organization faced a whirlpool of challenges and sought a bespoke solution to facilitate its people's development and enhancement of their skill sets across 20 entities within its energy ecosystem. Considering the proprietary nature of the pioneering scientific research conducted in the organization, KAPSARC needed to safeguard its intellectual resources while promoting knowledge sharing.
Another challenge revolved around catering to the diverse, inclusive workforce of the KAPSARC community, which spans various nationalities. The KSA-based think tank takes pride in the region’s native language, Arabic. KAPSARC, being aware that not everyone will understand Arabic, sought a learning and training solution that could evade language barriers and help it redefine embracing diversity and inclusion. date. Hence, the continuous research process. The changing dynamics of the energy industry in today’s knowledge economy imply it is more essential than ever for the workforce to remain updated with the latest information. However, keeping an eye on both the effectiveness of the learning content and the learner’s progress posed a significant challenge to KAPSARC
Solution
Since KAPSARC required a secure virtual training and learning platform with a user authentication mechanism, VIDIZMO EnterpriseTube provided a multi-factor authentication (MFA) mechanism.
Moreover, VIDIZMO offered multitenancy to create separate portals for each entity. This way, the energy think tank was able to protect its proprietary knowledge from falling into the hands of malicious actors.
However, this was only the tip of the iceberg. KAPSARC faced yet another challenge to spread industry knowledge to a culturally and regionally diverse audience through live and on-demand video content.
VIDIZMO offered seamless delivery of live-streamed and on-demand video content coupled with AI-powered automated transcription and translation to KAPSARC. Moreover, the content was made accessible using a browser-based application that runs on desktop as well as mobile devices. However, the most pressing challenge for KAPSARC was the ability, or the lack thereof, to monitor the effectiveness of the learning content and track the user’s learning progress.
With its granular media analytics capabilities, EnterpriseTube offered KAPSARC a holistic reports dashboard comprising actionable metrics, such as engagement rate, media progress, completion rate, user-level analytics, and more.
Other than that, the proposed solution helped KAPSARC insert in-video quizzes, handouts, and forms to make the learning content more valuable and interactive. Finally, EnterpriseTube enabled KAPSARC to automatically reward successful learners once they met the course completion criteria.
