About CDCR

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) manages the prison system for the State of California to enhance public safety, provide restorative justice, and conduct successful rehabilitative strategies for reintegrating offenders into the community.

Looking for a solution to securely stream live and on-demand video to their internal and external networks across 30+ facilities to communicate and share news, training videos, and other content, they turned to VIDIZMO for a viable solution.

Customer Challenges

The department needed a platform where they could stream on-demand videos across 30+ facilities across California for training and keeping their internal teams updated on current news and events going on in HQ and other departments.

They also needed to stream live videos and conduct town hall meetings across their facilities to communicate and keep everyone, including the management, up to date with recent developments.

The solution needed to be deployed on-premise with extensive security options to prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing the platform or content and carrying out certain actions and activities.

They also needed to stream video content to the public while preventing them from accessing content meant only for internal audiences easily.

Partner Solution

VIDIZMO EnterpriseTube solved their challenges by enabling them to securely stream, manage and share videos through Wowza on an integrated platform. EnterpriseTube provided CDCR with a secure and organized internal video portal through which they could stream live and on-demand videos to their network by integrating the platform with existing Wowza servers on their on-premises infrastructure.

Using role-based access control, they were able to assign certain roles to users to control access and permissions to carry out certain actions on the platform to prevent unauthorized activity. EnterpriseTube also provided them with multitenancy, so they could leverage an external portal with autonomous security to stream and share video content with the public and external audiences while preventing unauthorized access to off-limits content, maintaining content segregation, and avoiding tedious management of permissions for each user.

Furthermore, VIDIZMO allowed CDCR to store content on a hybrid infrastructure, internal content on-premises and public content on cloud.
